Jesse Robinson is one of our key clients, living and working in Salt Lake City. We chatted while he was visiting our office about his business and the work we do together.

Tell us about your product

I’m Executive Director of The Getch Foundation, a private foundation focused on ocean conservation and mental health, with a public-charity sub-foundation, “My Sunshine”, helping families facing cancer or trauma. With ScaleTech we’re building an emotional-wellness platform where families can get information about a disease, connect with a social worker or therapist 24/7, and communicate with others in the same situation — a secure, private place, unlike social media where data isn’t well protected.

Does the time zone or remote work make it harder?

You’re overseas, but I’ve never had issues setting up a call or getting bugs fixed — you’re always flexible with time. Crucially, your team is so fluent in English that I’ve never had trouble understanding or expressing myself. The time difference is hardly an issue; technology for virtual communication is so good these days.

The biggest advantage over other agencies?

They’re cheaper than most US development companies — not the cheapest globally, but it’s about quality versus what you pay, and ScaleTech is the best bang for your buck I’ve come across. Even though we could now build an in-house team, all our founders and partners unanimously agreed to keep scaling with ScaleTech: we share the same work ethic, delivery is on time and on budget, and — what I appreciate most — you provide input beyond my vision, often with ideas better than mine.
